If you would like to join and growing company, please read on! General Description Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for the pre-verification of insurance for patients.
Ensures insurance coverage by telephone, resolves any issues with coverage and escalates complicated issues to a supervisor or manager.
The Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, ensuring necessary office visits/procedures are covered by an individual's provider and medical necessity is completed prior to testing.
As an insurance verification specialist with SynergenX, you are responsible for entering data in an accurate manner, updating patient benefit information in the organization's EMR and verifying that existing information is accurate.
The insurance verification specialist informs patients of their financial responsibility for services to be rendered in an expeditious manner.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned.
Verifying insurance coverage of each patient.
Handling payments for services not rendered by insurance.
Explaining coverages to patients.
Obtaining referrals and authorizations for patients.
Updating patient information/keeping records.
Experience with Availity preferred.
Qualifications:
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and consistently meet multiple deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to use good judgment.

High School Diploma or GED required Must be able to be ONSITE in the Northwest Houston area (77070) Must be authorized to work in US.
Some Insurance Verification/billing experience (or completed certificate program) preferred but NOT required.
Location & Hours:
Corporate Office- Houston, 77070 Position is 40 hours a week.
