4K a year General Summary of Duties:
This position is responsible for front desk and clinic duties in a busy Medical Oncology Practice.
The Medical Office Assistant is the patient's first point of contact, therefore requires a positive attitude and polished, professional appearance.
This position will multi task a variety of medical office duties including check in, check out, scheduling, rooming, preparing patient charts, and obtaining patient vitals.
Essential Functions:
Greet patients and assist patients/caregivers Check in patients and collect copays/deductibles/co-insurance amounts Check out patients according to the physician instructions and coordinate appointments Answering high volume of inbound calls Scheduling/Rescheduling patient appointments including imaging scheduling Insurance authorization for outpatient imaging services Rooming patients including obtaining vital signs and updating medications Prepare patient's electronic medical chart to ensure all documents including imaging and pathology reports are filed accurately Maintain patient's charts, demographics, and billing information Scanning and filing medical documents into electronic medical records Obtain necessary consent and HIPAA documentation Assist other medical facilities with any physician orders for mutual patients Assist efficient flow of information between patients and medical staff Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including flexibility, priority setting, problem solving, and conflict resolutions Maintain highly positive attitude Utilize time and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year experience in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting High School Diploma or GED preferred Ability to build rapport with patients Strong organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Job Type:
