Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and exercise.
- Clean and maintain kennel areas, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for the animals.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
- Assist with grooming and bathing of animals as needed.
- Administer medications or treatments to animals under the direction of a manager.
- Handle and restrain animals safely and securely during procedures or examinations.
- Assist with basic training and socialization of animals to improve their adoptability.
Experience:
- Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting, such as a kennel, pet grooming salon, veterinary clinic, or animal shelter prefered.
- Knowledge of animal care practices.
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and confidently.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks.
Skills:
- Strong passion for working with animals and providing them with excellent care.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and animals.
- Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kennel area.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
