Job Description:
Laboratory technician to support activities in a Water Chemistry Lab that processes 60,000 water samples annually.
Person will be responsible for assisting lab leads with the following tests:
titrations, pH, digestions for metals analysis, specific gravity, and collecting sample aliquots for various laboratory tests.
Additional support would include sample management assistance with the laboratory login team.
Qualifications/Requirements Internal Associates Degree or equivalent in Chemistry or Chemical Technology One year of work experience in a chemistry or related analytical laboratory Self-motivated and ability to work independently in a high-volume environment Ability to foster a safety conscious work environment and meet environmental, health and safety goals Ability to read and follow SOPs accurately General computer skills and knowledge and experience with spreadsheets.
Ability to enter, review and revise data in a laboratory information management system.
Track record of high attention to detail Ability to learn from mistakes of self and others.
Attentive and active listener.
Ability to work with chemicals commonly found in an analytical laboratory and understand relevant Material Safety Data sheets associated with chemicals used.
Desired Characteristics Internal BA or BS in Chemistry or two years of work experience in a Chemistry or related lab Self-starter, independent worker, and proactive problem solver.
Possess strong oral and written communication skills and able to effectively communicate ideas Ability to multi-task, handle diverse responsibilities, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
